Todos Capos, 9/5/16

Hola Mamá y familia!

Thanks for the email and update Mom! I´m excited for Noelle and her birthday! I hope she goes and serves the Lord with all her might this Wednesday! What an awesome sis! I saw the picture of my street in Australia! That´s awesome!

Man, I wish I had summitted a few more mountains in my time in Utah. It´s hard for me to prioritize it though! That´s awesome that Dad hiked with Monsur though. That´s so crazy to me that football has started! College football has been so far from my mind that it totally caught me by surprise! I hope BYU has a good season, but if they don´t oh well jaja. The people here could care less about futbol nortéamericano. Crazy that Elise is engaged too! Congrats to them! At least I got to meet the hubbie-to-be once before I left!

As for the finances, I only use my personal money to buy things that aren´t approved in the white handbook. For example, I withdrew money so that I could buy pens, tape, sticky notes, and a ruler to help with my studies. I also purchased a set of scriptures in castellano. I haven´t really  bought much of anything only those small things that I feel like can help me be a better missionary :)

Elder Wendt and I are pressing forward! This coming week is the last week of my first transfer! Holy canola oil! Who knows what news I might have this coming week! It will be crazy to find out what happens! Regardless, we are going to "trabaja a full" as they say here. We have some awesome goals for the coming week, and we had some really good results this past week!

To update you on Cintia- she came to church yesterday! Praise the Lord! We had Cintia, Micaela, and Daniel (a new investigator) all at church! What a blessing! What a challenge too! I´ve never thought about the coordination it takes to have several new investigators at church! You want to help all of them at once to really fellowship and get to know the members of the ward but there is only so much you can do!

Cintia has been progressing well, and today she is going to get the paperwork she needs in order to get married this month! Woohoo! We set a baptismal date for the 8th of October so that she can get married, have her birthday, and get baptized all within the next month! We are excited to help her move forward! Of course, there is opposition in all things so who knows what could happen, but she is on the right course!

Micaela is continuing forward. She is super funny. We talked over some of her personal matters that we were worried may impede her from being baptized. To be honest, we are still a bit confused. We asked her very directly about it, and she didn´t answer very directly jaja. She expressed that she wants to move forward and be baptized the 24th of September though! Woohoo!

Finally, Daniel- an antiguo investigador that we finally were able to find and schedule a lesson with. We had a really awkward first lesson with him. A member from the ward that he already knew was already with Daniel when we arrived (we had asked him to come to the lesson with us). We asked to sit down and I guess Daniel had been having troubles with his mother that lives in his house, so we took a seat in the van of Hno. Cicciari for the entirety of the lesson jajaja! Hno. Cicciari and Daniel sat in the front, and we sat in the row just behind them. Really awkward, but it turned out just fine. He has a great testimony of Jesus Christ, we know he has struggled in the past with the word of wisdom though and we are going to have plenty of work to do to help him prepare for the 24th of September to be baptized!

Goodness gracious I feel like my emails are long! It´s really difficult to express all the wonders and worries of a full week of missionary work. Things are going great though! I am learning the language one day at a time, I´m learning to work with Elder Wendt one day at a time, and I´m learning to trust in God one day at a time!

I know my Savior lives! I know that he loves his children! I know that we are his children, and that we have his restored gospel on the earth today! God works with all of his children to build his kingdom on earth; nevertheless, there is only one path to eternal life- the gospel of jesus christ in his church- the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I love you all!

Best,
Elder Lambert
