Fechas y profetas, 10/3/16

Hola Mamá, Papá, y familia!

As for the recovery, I´m feeling just fine. I am being careful not to go running, but I´m healing pretty quickly. I´m not sure exactly how far I fell, probably about 8 feet. It could´ve been a little higher, my comp likes to exaggerate and always says it was 5-6 meters. I´m getting along just fine. I take an anti-inflammatory every night and I´m back to doing some basic exercises again in the morning to try to improve my overall health.

It´s great to hear all the news with the family. I´m glad that Dad had the awesome opportunity to visit Moldova again and that he´s back safe. It´s sweet that Connor and Mel got to see Young the Giant- that would be a fun concert! Also, that´s sweet that Landon got to see one of his converts and also visit with the ward mission leader from his first area! Not to mention, it´s super cool that his former mission president spoke! That´s awesome! And to put the cherry on top Noelle´s heading out to the bush to train a new missionary! Wowza! ¡Que capa!

As for the past week, it was a tough week in some aspects- it has been a lot tougher finding new investigators. We have been contacting lots of old investigators, asking for references from members, etc. but our resources are starting to wear a little thin! We did a lot of contacting, and unfortunately didn´t find many new investigators that seem really solid yet. There´s plenty of more work to do though! I know that there are families here prepared to accept our message!

Even though we didn´t find many new investigators we have had some great miracles with our other investigators- first off we have Marcelo, the boyfriend of our recent convert Cynthia. Marcelo, accepted a baptismal date for the 22nd of this month! Woohoo! He is an awesome guy and has been reading in the Book of Mormon with Cynthia and coming to church. To make it even sweeter they´re going to be married this Thursday!!! I´m so happy for them! They are seriously a great couple and are going to be incredible examples for their kids!

To add to the excitement, we made a very important discovery this past week. There has been a girl, Veronica, that has been attending to church ever since I arrived in the area. I thought that she was a member, and the daughter of one of the families here. However- SURPRISE - she isn´t a member! She is actually the girlfriend of a member in the ward and has already attended probably five or six times! We had an awesome lesson with her- from beginning to end it was fantastic. To top it off I invited her to  be baptized the 29th of October to discover it is the birthday of her father who passed away several years back! She accepted and we are beyond excited to help her progress! What a miracle!

As for Micaela, she has not been able to be baptized just yet. She still has some personal development to do with her faith in Jesus Christ and the gospel, but we are working dilligently to help her understand how she can improve and continue to change!

Finally, the week finished off with conference! The talks were excellent! I was able to still understand quite a bit, listening in Castellano, and I really loved a lot of the talks. I loved the discussion of how we can prepare ourselves to take the sacrament each week, and the simple story by Pres. Monson in priesthood about the word of wisdom and the blessings we receive by abiding by it! We were able to watch both Saturday sessions, and then we watched priesthood Sunday morning before watching both of the Sunday sessions later in the day.

I would like to end today by bearing my testimony of the restored gospel! Teaching here in Argentina has really helped me to strengthen my testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that we have the power of God in our church to do God´s work here on earth.

This spíritual knowledge is essential for everyone we teach, because many have the opinion that all that matters is that they believe in God and they will be saved in the end. When we are able to share the story of the restoration in a spirit of love, I feel, and the people we teach are able to feel that they need to be baptized in the church of Jesus Christ and that his power is here on the earth inviting them to change and improve their lives!

Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live! Our church is lead by our Savior!

Love,
Elder Lambert
