Once again, I´m blown away that it´s already time to email again! I can´t believe I´m finishing my first transfer in the mission field! (I couldn´t remember the english word transfer for a second there, I´m so used to hearing traslado already).
That´s great to hear that Dad´s practice is having some success and that you have been able to continue with the dance classes! Those are also some awesome quotes from the regional conference! I can´t believe general conference is coming up! I love that quote from Bonnie L. Oscarson! We just used a talk by her with one of the recent converts in the ward this past week!
As for transfers, here´s the news: Elder Wendt is going to be taking off :( but I´m going to have the chance to stay here in the Atalaya barrio and work with Elder Benitiez. I know virtually nothing about Elder Benitez except that he is from Paraguay, and will be the new leader of our district to replace Elder Wendt. It should be a great learning experience. It´s sad to see Elder Wendt go, he has been a great Papí, but I´m sure that Elder Benitez and I can continue to work hard to invite more people to Jesus Christ!
As for the work this past week- things were great! We had exchanges again this past week and I had the chance to work with Elder Jamison, an elder who has been here for 18 months, from Orem. We worked in Elder Jamison´s area. It was a good chance to learn from him and also try to help contribute in his area! I got so much food that day! It was ridiculous! By the last appointment I couldn´t eat any more and I had to ask the investigator if it would be okay if I took the food with me. Thankfully people are very understanding and aren´t bothered if you are just upfront and tell them if you are full, etc.
We had some more awesome lessons with Cintia, Micaela, and Daniel this past week. Even better, Cintia came to church with her son Ezequiel yesterday! It was awesome to see both of them together at church! Cintia has been so incredible in her commitment to change her life and stay true to the testimony she has received of the truthfulness of the gospel! We had an amazing lesson with her this past week focusing on the atonement and our need for repentance. We reviewed the commandments and she has already made many of the changes that we were anticipating she may have to make! As such, she is already keeping the law of chastity, word of wisdom, etc.! She expressed that she would love to be baptized sooner and we are now preparing for a baptism this Saturday! I´m so excited for Cintia! This is truly a special time in her life! I´m glad I can be a part of it!
Unfortunately, there is more to discuss but little to no time to do so! Micaela is still planning to be baptized the end of this month and Daniel as well! We are working hard to help them prepare and continuing to seek out other children that God has prepared! Things are really improving one day at a time!
I really want to testify of the priesthood today. I have really seen that we have the power of God on earth to bless the lives of God´s children. I had my first opportunity yesterday to seal a blessing for a sister that was sick yesterday. I was blessed to have the words I needed in Castellano to communicate the message I felt God wanted delivered. The church of Jesus Christ is on the earth and he is at the head. I am grateful to be a humble servant in the house of my father!
The best,
Elder Lambert
