El alma - espiritu y cuerpo, March 26, 2018

Hola Mamá y familia!

Glad to hear that you all continue to stay involved with your civic duties! That´s also really great to hear that Landon could do a double-date with Jaron. You´re going to host two more foreign exchange students? Woah! I thought that you guys had gotten enough of raising teenagers after your four children, but it looks like I was wrong! I hope that Heidi and Tania have been able to enjoy their time and that the new girls will be able to have a good experience as well.

Elder Winward and I had several incredibly blessed days this past week. We were able to meet some lovely families that we hope to be able to continue teaching, but everything hit a roadblock Wednesday night called sickness. Wednesday morning I noticed that I wasn´t feeling as well, but I continued forward. As we were finishing out our working day I knew that my body was spent. Thursday through Saturday Elder Winward and I spent large portions of the day resting while my body overcame a flu. For whatever reason my body needed rest, and so it got it.

I was blessed that Sunday I was feeling good enough that we were able to go out and continue working normally again. The connection between our physical health, and spiritual health is very interesting. For me it´s very easy when I´m feeling down physically to want to get down spiritually- questioning God for why I´m sick, thinking that I cannot contribute, etc. Yet I have heard many stories of people in hospitals that inspire as they face terminal illness, or seek ways to comfort others who share their infirmity. What´s the difference? Like so many things in life it has to be the attitude and the resilience of each person.

Even though Elder Winward and I couldn´t work in the way that maybe I would have liked this past week, I know that God lives, and understands my circumstances. I know that he blessed us to find and speak with Franco, a 13-year-old boy that had the best spiritual questions that I have heard from anyone whether old or young. I also know that he lead us to Karina, a mother that is struggling to help her 17-year-old son find joy and purpose in his life.

Wherever you may be in your life emotionally, spiritually, mentally, or physically know that God knows where you are and that you CAN lift where you stand. Even if that´s from a sick bed.

I love you all!

-Elder Lambert

Sorry I forgot to take pictures this week. Plus, there´s not much to take pictures of inside our apartment haha.
